Many people need help hearing the Word of God. But Merv Daniels needed help to see it. Daniels, 76, of Winter Garden, had been an usher at First Baptist Church of Orlando for 20 years before he lost most of his hearing a few years ago. "He faithfully came every week, even though he couldn't hear the message," said Ninette Butler. "He would sit in his pew and read his bible." But one day, he sat next to Jean Rohrer — a court reporter, expert in the ways of rapidly turning the spoken word into text. "He picked the right place in the sanctuary," Butler said.
