Seven Court Reporters Used in Lovelace Trial

Lovelace has requested a copy of transcripts from the first trial, which lasted two weeks and resulted in a mistrial after the jury of 10 women and two men was deadlocked at 6-6 after 16 hours of deliberation. In a motion that he filed on his own behalf, Lovelace asked that he receive the transcripts free of charge. Special prosecutor Ed Parkinson opposed that motion, saying Lovelace should not be able to make motions on his own behalf because he has counsel.No transcripts have been ordered because it is a time-consuming and costly process.
