Plaza College Brings Back Court Reporting


When one thinks of a courtroom’s most important individuals, the judge, jury, lawyers and the accused rightfully come to mind before anyone else. Often overlooked is the silent, but incredibly important stenographer, the record keeper of the courtroom. Queens was looking at a possible shortage of such people, until Plaza College in Forest Hills intervened. The New York Career Institute closed in 2016, leaving the dozens of students in its court reporter program unsure if they will be able to continue their training.
