So the court says it will cost $4 million to hire 22 more reporters so the indigent do not have to pay for this service. Does that mean court reporting is an outrageously lucrative profession – with a starting pay of $182,000 per year – or is this just another sign that our government has no clue how to spend tax dollars effectively? Why does that not generate a follow up question from your reporter? We could easily cut taxes in half and still support the government we need, including provisions to take care of the less fortunate. The answer to everything is most certainly not always “we need to raise taxes.” Perhaps we should reject all tax increases until our government can show it actually pays attention to how it is.....MORE
